I have found out some more information, but I am still trying to piece some infor together. THis is what I have so far....

Thayne Archibald REDDEN, born 25 Nov., 1942, in Chester, NS

Father – Carl REDDEN (date of birth and death?)
He re-married Florence Tobin in 1974 but she died of cancer in 1984 or 85.

Mother – Vera Kimberley Butler

She married Carl in March 1942 but ran away and had the baby in the Ideal Maternity Home* in Chester, NS, (about 100 miles from Halifax) on November 25.

Carl’s father was Archibald Gunn REDDEN, born 1883 - died 1964, buried in Windsor, NS
and mother was Mabel Kehoe, born 1885 – died 1977

The first REDDENs came from Ireland and settled in what is now know as Redden Valley, between Windsor and Chester. Interestingly, a picture of Redden Valley appears on the back of the old $2 bill.

Please let me know if anyone has any other information

Thanks,

J Laurence
