No I am not related to this REDMOND line. But I have been researching REDMOND & variations
(REDMON & REDMAN) for a long time & have quite an extensive database.
I have JUST become the new administrator of a DNA project & so continue to collect info.
And in this endeavour, I of course wanted to be knowledgeable about "famous" REDMONDs.
To join ...
I still have to update the above info as I now have 5 DNA samples.
Here is the info I have on the painter's family.
.1 .1 Richard Seymour REDMOND n=1810-1815 (was he born in UK,Ireland ?)
d=Mar 1856 California (killed by Indians) m=11 Jun 1841 NJ,Middlesex-Co,Perth-Amboy
to Lavinia Merritt YOUNG n=06 Nov 1813 NJ,Middlesex-Co,Perth-Amboy
d=21 Mar 1856 (at sea between Panama & CA,SanFrancisco)
1855 Richard was looking for gold in California & wrote for his wife & children to join him.
She set out with her 3 small sons, going first to Panama by ship &
then across the Isthmus to Panama-City, from which she & her sons once more
sailed for California. She died of fever at sea a few days out from Panama.
1856/03/early Meanwhile Richard was killed by Indians in California, so that when the 3 young
motherless REDMOND boys arrived in CA,SanFrancisco, they found that they were fatherless too.
Do you know if they were raised together & by whom ?

Because of this, I would appreciate knowing your source of the painter's parents.
I would also welcome any more details that you might have.
