Re: Reffett gene trait CROOKED MIDDLE FINGERS
All my sons have bent fingers too. But I'm odd, my pinkies bend outward instead of the middle fingers.
By the way, it has occured to me that my Margurite Reffett could easily have been the daughter of Samuel rather than John. In the 1830 Montgomery Co. KY census, there are four young women in the household of Samuel, presumably all daughters. The information you gave me lists only one daughter.
I discovered that James Carter apparently was not married to Margurite in 1830. We found a marriage record for James' son Solomon, born about 1834, that says Solomon's mother was Polly Wagle. hmm! Now I'm not sure whether Polly Wagle or Margurite Reffett was my g.g. grandmother. I still have reason to believe it was Margurite though.
Another odd thing in the censuses is that Daniel was supposedly born about 1815, but there are no sons shown in the household of Samuel until 1830, then he has two sons under 10.
What do you think?
