Hullo Patrick , Two Years On ! Belated Thanks !
I cannot remember having read your response before , nor can I remember having thanked you . How remiss of me.
Thank-you for your research on my behalf.
It would appear likely that my Mary Brown ( nee Reilly/Riley) and her husband John Brown left Grafton, some time after 1885.
They then 'disappeared' or at least got 'buried',so to speak , among a heap of other Brown-surnamed folk.
Since my post to Genforum I have learned that :-
19year-old Mary Reilly , a Laundress from Ballyconnell,Cavan,Ireland, was aboard the ship 'Wallasea',bound for Sydney ,New South Wales , Australia , in 1865.
She appears to have been the only Reilly or Riley on the ship's passenger list.
I believe that she was the bride of John Brown , my Great Grandfather,in 1867 , at Grafton , NSW.
John Brown was born in Denmark. No details of hisemigration from Denmark, nor his arrival in Australia are known to me.
I have no knowledge of my Great Grandparents final resting place, nor of their dates of death........................
