RESEGAIRE and REISEGER connection
Your message about the Reiseger family is so interesting. Thank you so much for writing. I am very pleased to make your acquaintance through these postings.
When you mentioned a Jean RESEGAIRE, I realized you might be onto something very important. I don't know much French but I do recognize Jean (French) is John (English) and Jan (Dutch) and Johannes (German).
The mention of Jean RESEGAIRE made me realize that my REISEGER family in Groningen has many sons named Jan or Johannes. It seems that every generation had at least one or more sons named Jan or Johannes.
Could it be that Jean RESEGAIRE did not go to Brandebourg but to Groningen?
Most of the REISEGER families in my research files are definitely connected to one another. My 2nd great-grandmother was Anna Catharina REISEGER, the daughter of Wessel Marcus REISEGER and Grietje BONTEKOE. I can trace that REISEGER lineage back at least 4 or 5 generations without trouble. I also have many brothers & sisters & cousins in my database.
My notes include references to various church and civil registration documents. My files include many photocopies of such documents which could be photocopied or scanned for you.
However, I do have some families that I haven't yet connected to the main lineage but they are still in my database. I hope that these "stray families" will link together one day with the main REISEGER family.
Are you able to open a GEDCOM file? I could send you a copy of my various REISEGER families by GEDCOM if you have a program that can open it. Please let me know if you'd like a GEDCOM of the information. I could send it to you as an attachment. If you have a better suggestion, please tell me what you suggest.
I am hoping that the GEDCOM will be a good idea because the postage for mailing papers would cost a lot.
