Obit of Peter Reising

Peter A. Reising died at the family home, in the north part of town, on Monday night at about ten o'clock, after a lingering illness from a complication of ailments, brought on largely by age and a general breaking of the physical forces.
Peter Adam Reising was born in Bavaria, Germany, October 22, 1831, and came to the United States in1838, locating in Woodford county, Illinois. There he lived until 1865, when he moved to Ford county, and in 1891 the family moved into the village of Chatsworth, where they have since resided. On August 22, 1854, he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Rossmann, who survives him.
Mr. and Mrs. Reising were the parents of ten children, one, Louise, having died in infancy. The nine surviving are: Mrs. Kate Holefelder, of Chicage; Frank, of Piper City; Mrs. Mary Burger, of Crescent City; Peter, of Fairbanks, Iowa; George of Chatsworth; Mrs. Anna Rosenberger, of Strawn; Mrs. Gertrude Haley, of Chicago; Mrs. Ida Herr, of Chatsworth; Edward, of Chicago. In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Reising is survived by one brother, Michael, of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Haas, of El Paso, and Mrs. Emma Rossmann, of Waconia, Minn.
The funeral services were held on Thursday morning at SS. Peter and Paul's church, and the remains were laid to rest in St. Patrick's cemetery.
