Hi Regina. Please read carefully the last paragraph of my original reply for Claude. As I said Claude is NOT related to Jean-Baptiste.
Jean-Baptiste's parents are Jean and Marie Forget all rigtht and I have no data about Jean's parents; while Claude Renard dit Deslauriers born Quebec city 1674: parents are Claude Renard dit Deslauriers and Marie Coipel married in same place 1677. This last Claude's parents are Nicolas Renard and Louise Thibaut. Claude was 44 years old at the 1681 census in Quebec city. He was originary from Angers, Anjou, Fance (north west). A marriage contract signed with Maie Ariot in 1670 also in Quebec city was cancelled so you can say he was in Canada before 1670 but he was born in France circa 1637. His wife Marie Coipel died in 1681.
So forget about this Claude as he does not connect to your Jean-Baptiste.
Jean-Baptiste Renaud dit Deslauriers was originary from Astaillac Limousin France (center south)and born circa 1669.
There is no proof either that Nicolas and Jean are related.
Renaud is widespread in Fraance, Canada and elsewhere. There may be over 50 unrelated family groups in North America alone and much more in France.
Several members of the Renaud dit Deslauriers group moved to the US at various times (as early as 1750 to Indiana), and your family's branch moved to New-England circa 1850.
