Isaac Renfrew
Hello, I live in the U.S. and am attempting to build the early family genealogy. I am searching for relatives of Isaac Renfrew a native of Ireland. It's rumored that Isaac's family was originally from Scotland and the family were shipbuilders. Isaac was a weaver by trade. Isaac migrated to the U.S. sometime before 1819,as his son John was born in this year, it is believed he took a ship built by the family. (no records have been found to substantiate.)The Renfrew family had apparently been in the colonies for some time according to this excerpt.
{The Renfrew sisters, Sarah and Jane, were slain by hostile Indians as they washed their clothes along the Antietam Creek in 1764 during the French and Indian War.} This tragedy occurred near the Renfrew homestead in Waynsboro,Pa. Where the family first settled in Franklin county Pa. A museum dedicated to the family was established at the homestead.
I am searching for the missing family connections to Isaac and the original early settlers in Franklin county. Sarah and Jane were my great aunts many times removed.
