Re Renouf famiy - Your note about the occupation was very interesting - assume this was first world war.Alfred Renouf, a brother of my husband's gggrandmother Louisa b. 1839 St. Helier, stopped writing "during the occupation".They never heard from him again.I am not aware of any further contact with Jersey Is. after this time.Family information, Thomas b. abt. 1800 d. abt 1880, m. Elizabeth Monet, children Jane 1835, Harriet Margaret b. 03 Jan. 1836, Alfred b. 1842, and Louisa who married John Flynn from Kings County Ireland b. 1816. On their marriage certificate it lists him as Pensioner.Does anyone know what this could mean - army, navy? Any help would be appreciated.Thank you.
