Thanks for the reply and the information.I have one of the model A guns.I am a bayonet collector with interest in children and trainer bayonets.The Requarth gun takes a very strange bayonet.I have had several of the bayonets over the years, but never knew what they fit on.When I found one of the Requarth guns with the bayonet still attached the answer was apparent.
I have not found any period advertising for the Requarth gun, but I know it was marketed by the Cincinnatti Regalia Company.The gun is based on the M1873 Trapdoor rifle, so production of the trainer would have to be after 1873 and could be as late as WWI.Boys Brigades declined rapidly during and after WWI, so I doubt any of them were made that late.
Were the guns made by your family lumber company??
