I'm searching for proof that the family of David Rester (son of Frederick Jr and Louisa Denmark Rester, grandson of Frederick Sr and Mary Margaret Mengersdorf) and his wife Barbara were in the Mississippi Territory PRIOR to statehood on December 10th of 1817.
So far, I have only the following 3 items which imply but do not adequately prove residency prior to statehood:
1) In 1809 David Rester was issued a passport authorizing his travel from Georgia thru the Indian Territories into Mississippi.
2) In 1820 David Rester and his family appear in the US Census in Hancock County, MS.
3) In 1850 David and Barbara Rester's son, Frederick, is listed in the Census in Harrison County MS, stating he was born in Mississippi in 1815.
I need something stronger -- land records, entries in a family Bible, etc to augment what little information I have.
