Here's an additional comment that needs more research so I didn't post above.
The following is a 2003 post within the Revels Family Forum here on Genforum: "My father was born in Wauwautosa, Wisconsin. His father I believe was Jean J. Revels who married a Hungarian woman and I think at the time of his death he lived in Toledo, Ohio." Person posting the message used first name Jill.
Wauwatosa, Wisconsin is in Milwaukee County.
A Betty Revels b 19 March 1909 in Hungary became a naturalized US citizen as shown in US naturalization records (residence Wisconsin).
The Betty Revels b 1909 who is shown with Jill in Los Angeles in 1940 was noted as born in Ohio - but that COULD be a mistake that came simply because their last residence was Toledo, Lucas, Ohio.
I suppose "Jean J" could be "Gene J." who is in other Wisconsin records with a wife Betty. (Jean and Gene are pronounced the same)
Jean J Revels was born in about 1907-1908 to Walter and Mary Revels.
1910 Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Walter Revels 46 Mary Revels 32 Walter Revels Jr. 19 Ethel E Revels 6 Marie E Revels 4 Jean J Revels 2 Mabel J Revels 0
Bert b abt 1913 and Mabel b abt 1909 live with Mary in Milwaukee in 1930
A groom Bert Vern Revels married a spouse Teri Jean Nash
Mary Revels (1877-1950)is also buried at Forest Home in Milwaukee.
This family is noted as Caucasian/white; there are also African American people with surname Revels. There are also two or more people with these various first names, and some of them are similar in age. All in all, this will take more research to unravel. Thus the above records and comments are "for the shoebox" only, as possible (not definite) leads for your Jill.
