I am looking for the parents of Anne / Anna Reynolds. She married Moses Greeno and they lived in Rutland, VT. They are my gggreat-grandparents. Anna was buried on January 26, 1845 in Evergreen Cem.,Troy, Bradford, PA. I have one sister's name ... Polly.
History of Rutland County Vermont, part I, page 321 In the old North Cemetery a stone bears the record of the death of "Joshua Reynals" who died in 1818 at the age of seventy-five years. According to the "Vermont Historical Magazine", he lived at the North (or Merriam's) Mills. We are not aware if the two were relatives. (referring to Jonathan Reynolds in the same paragraph...see below)
Same paragraph: Jonathan Reynolds came to the town at an early day and purchased two hundred and seventy-five acres of land of James Mead in the Otter Creek valley, the farm, or a portion of it, being now known as as the Griggs farm. Mr. Reynolds was a lieutenant in the Revolutionary Army and was known as a great hunter and trapper. He died in 1840, when he was one hundred years old, lacking sixteen days.
On this same page is reference to Daniel Greeno and Amos Hines (note the spelling which should be Himes), also my ancestores. Also on that page and the following page references Ashbel Cook, brother of our Sarah Cook. The Rice name is on the following page...Ashbel's wife was Rachel Rice (we have a Lydia Rice married to the Daniel Greeno above...Lydia also a dead end. I would anticipate that there may be some relationship between Jonathan and / or Joshua and our Anna, but if there is ... how how they are related is unknown.
