I have a small file on Reynolds family from Oneida County, NYS. Have never been able to make a connection with other Oneida County Reynold's families.
I have Charles and Eleanor Reynolds-Charles born 1778-1784 time frame, his wife Eleanor born about 1784.
Had son Benjamin Reynolds born about 1808 in USA who married a Rebecca, lived at Camden East, Ontario, Canada and then at either Portland or Hinchinbrooke. Seven known children.
Daughter Anne Mary born about 1812 in USA was married to William Henry Davy, lived at Camden East. Ten known children.
Must be several other children, have just discovered another son, no solid evidence yet but Ira Reynolds born about 1818-1819 in USA is at Brighton, Nothumberland County in 1851 and 1861; 1861 census there is a 77 year old Eleanor Reynolds living with him, born USA, I believe this is same person as wife of Charles Reynolds mentioned above.
By 1871 this Reynolds family had moved to Lambton County- Ira and his wife Martha nee Milligan are living at Enniskillen in 1871 and then at Petrolia in 1881. I cannot find dates of death for them- did they move to the USA?
I am having a tough time tracking the childen in this family but at least two of the sons moved to Michigan, so I suspect the rest did as well.
Here are names of the children I have so far for Ira Milligan senior and his wife Martha Milligan, taken from the census pages:
Clarinda born 1841 Henry born 1841 Emily born 1843 Charles born 1847 married Sarah Rolston Martha born 1849 Minerva born 1853 married John Allen McLeod in 1872 Melissa born 1855 md. Joseph Henry Beesley (?) in 1875 Augusta born 1857 Ira (Melvin) born 1860, died in Detroit, Michigan? Sarah A. born 1863 believed to have married Archibald Rolston
This family shows up on some census pages as Raynolds.
I am also interested in finding names of parents for Martha Milligan wife of Ira Reynolds senior- I believe she is related to my Camden East Milligan families. On the 1851 census at Brighton, Ont. there is a 22 year old Charles Milligan in her home, he may be a younger brother. This Charles eventually moved to Buffalo, New York, but I can't find him from 1871 (in Ontario) to 1910. he had at least six children with wife Henrietta.
