Hello out there.I came to the conclusion that Joseph Reynolds of Carr's Fork Letcher Ky was a brother of Noah and William Henry.I have been searching like all of you for the parents of Noah and siblings.I have also heard that there was a sister named Anna. Also a poss. of a younger bro. named Daniel.
Due to these names, I am pursuing the Maryland Reynolds of Anne Arundel and Pennsylvania Reynolds of Chichester County (Origins in Chester Eng.)
As far as I can tell, these Reynolds are from FRANCES JOSEPH REYNOLDS grandson to Christopher, born in Eng.Or....from Noah b. 1720 Eng. All of the sibling names have been passed down with the exception of 2-Rebecca and Bridgett.
Not many of FRANCES children have continuing info past their birth or marriage=no children listed! So hard to follow.
The problem with the NOAH lineage is just about the same. What I feel needs to be done at this point is to find researchers with child info on the brothers of NOAH REYNOLDS born 1777.They are the perfect age.Not many of them have continuing lineages either.Especially, Thomas Jr. and William Henry. These were my two top picks.
However, now that I have read all the info here, I have decided to look for a JOSEPH living in Va at the time of Joe Jr. b. in Rockbridge Co in 1805 and Russell Co in 1808.I currently have 3 possible fathers for Noah based on the heads of house in Russell in 1820 with the correct ages of children to match ours.
Henry Runals 1790 tax list Russell Henry Runals 1820 Census over 45 years old ch: 2 boys under 10, 1 boy 10-16, 2 females 10-16, 1 female 26-45, 2 working males in family.
also in Russell in 1820 are: George age 26, with 7 boys, wife and 4 girls
Thomas age 26, 6 boys, wife and 2 girls
William 26, 1 baby boy, wife and 1 girl
In 1830 Russell
Henry age 70, 2 males under 20 and 1 male 30, wife age 60
When you jump to Scott Co for 1850, Noah and family, Henry age 36 w/Malinda and kids, and a Hamilton age 42 and family.
I don't know what to do at this point. I am going to go by who is probably the first born and hope they named him after the grandfather.
I have also seen on this site info indicating that Thomas and Mary Wood were the parents of Noah.Wasn't Mary Wood married to John Reynolds. They should be in Bedford Co and would be WAY too old to be Noah's parents.
I have a lot of info on Joseph Reynolds of Carr's Fork.As a matter of fact, Noah named one of his son's Joseph C. b. 1847 Va. (my gg-grandfather) and he named one of his sons from a second marriage "Joseph Coleman" b. 1892 Letcher Ky. Joseph C. also had a son by first wife Matilda Morgan. His name was Morgan Tillman Reynolds b. 1874,(g-grandfather). Morgan named one of his sons Joseph (grandfather) b. 1907. Grandpa Joe only had one son, Clarence Edward Reynolds d. 2000 age 74 (my father in law). We did pick up the Joe again with my deceased brother-in-law, Joseph Edward Reynolds d. 1972.I have the last one now, my son Joseph Adam Reynolds b. 1986, age 14.
Someone besides me please check on the children of FRANCES JOSEPH REYNOLDS on LDS files I think. His children names are quite a coincidence on my side of the family.
