Jediah Rhoads 3/20/09
The Rhoads name comes from the Rhoads families who lived in Lincolnshire, England after about 1066. The name Rhoads is derived from the Old English "rod," which means "a clearing in the woods." Surnames typically derived from locations or occupations.
On the other hand, sometimes a family member changes the family name, as mine did, which makes genealogy research more difficult.
