I am looking for the parentage of Margaret Ridley, married John Featherstonhaugh in early 1500s. She is said to be daughter of or cousin to Bishop Ridley. The Bishop had no children. One source gives her father as Nicholas Rydley, Knight.I have found info that gives the Lords of Ridley as Joseph (fighting with Henry Tudor in 1485), His son Nicholas aucceeded to the Lordship in 1490. Christopher, the Lord from 1519, a confidante of Henry VIII. Christopher's son Nicholas was Lord and the Bishop Martyr. His heir was Thomas, a cousin who married a Boleyn and was an advisor to James I. The Ridleys of Willimoteswick and Unthank (Durham/Northumberland)) were very involved in the Reiver Border conflict. There are several accounts of the murder(1530) of Albany Featherstonehaugh, High Sherrif of Northumberland by a group including 'Ridley of Unthank,Willlimoteswick and Blenkinsopp.'Who was Margaret's father?
