I got the map down to look at the states.CT is a long way comparitively from N.J. William and Thomas were born in N.C., a long ways westward from N.J. Quite a distance there looks like. What would take them back east not just to N.J. but to CT? They could have sailed I guess out of N.C., but still, that's a long ways for travel in those days. Doesn't say where John Riggs was born in 1791, but they were back in N.C. for Reuben's birth in Dec. of 1792. I guess we can't rule out their taking to the high seas, else wise, I don't think they would have gone east. I wonder what kind of records or papers we could look at in CT for some kind of clue?
