Luke Road, John Roade, P.G. Co., MD; 1694-7
I am not researching these people, although I do have Rhodes ancestors who lived in eastern North Carolina in the 1700s; there could be a connection.
From the book "Prince George's County Maryland Land Records, 1696-1702" is the following information:
"Indenture, 20 September, 1696; From: Luke Road, late of Anne Arundel Co., now of Baltimore Co., planter. To: Mordicai Moore of Anne Arundel Co., merchant; Price: 90 pounds sterling; Property: All the 300 acre tract called 'Aaron' formerly in Charles Co., now in P.G. Co., and now occupied by said Moore; near Annacostin Fort; bounded by land of Luke Green and a ridge between Oxon and the eastern branch; 300 acres according to the certificate of survey returned to the land office in St. Mary's City., 17 March 1687.Signature: Luke Road; Wit.: George Bran, Moriton (John Meriton), George Brent, Jun'r. A John Roade was a witness to a transaction on 5 March 1694/5.
