Re: Found my Robertson
I would love to E-mail you but do not have your E mail address.I have been helping a friend do his Robinson family from Baltimore County, Maryland and have collected quite abit of info from various sources on the Robinson/Robison/Robertson families in that area.
We have been looking for the parents of a John Robinson b. abt 1817 in MD who was the father of an Ephraim Robinson b. 1848/1849 in MD.We found John Robison/Robinson, laborer, in the 1850 and 1860 census in Baltimore Co not very far from the city of Baltimore, but not sure if we have him for the 1870.
"The dates I have are about 1820." I am not sure what you mean by that.
"Jane, her brother Ephraim were involved in court proceedings in about 1839 and 1840 in Tn." What kind of court proceding?
"Richard had died in Alabama earlier." I take that to mean the Richard you mentioned was the father of Jane and Ephraim.Do you have a date of death for Richard?
"There were several brothers and sisters in addition to Ephraim and Jane if you want their names."I would love to have their names if you do not mind.
"I am not sure that Margaret Robertson Chism was the mother of Jane and her brothers and sisters." That is Ok we can work on that later."Other researchers think there mother was named Sarah Rebecca Penn." I will look and see if I have any Sarah's that might fit as Richard's wife.
"Janes father Richard had a brother named Samuel." We have been looking for a Samuel and would love to know your proof.
"Then it appears that the father of Richard and Samuel was Ephraim of Maryland. That is the likely the same Ephraim you have as a Councilman in Baltimore." We can't prove that yet but we can continue to work on it.
"These Robertsons came from Baltimore."Because Ephraim, the Councilman, was probably born in the middle 1750's it has been difficult finding documentation as to his date of birth.
"I am fairly sure they are that Ephraims' sons but I have no documentation YET so I can't say for sure that is true." We can continue to look for that.
"I think this Ephraim's father was Amos who was the immigrant from Scotland."I looked for an Amos in my records when I first saw your posting but could not find him. What documentation do you have for him?
"If you want the named of the brothers and sisters of my Jane Robertson and the documentation I do have," Yes please I would love to have that information.
"I would be glad to know what info you have on the Ephraim you are seeking and if he could be the same."I do not know at this point in time if Ephraim, the councilman, is connected to Ephraim b. 1848/1849 (son of John b. 1817)but they certainly all were from Baltimore County in that period of time.
I am going to look now and try to organize some info to send to you. Thanks so much for your kind reply.
