Still looking for GGG Grandmother Beda Rose.
I haqve been searching for my early ancestor Beda Rose for about 20 years. The unusual spelling of the first name could be a derivitive of Elizabeth. She was born ca. 1790 in North Carolina. She was married and had children in South Carolina. My GG Grandfather was named Andrew Jackson Rose, b. South Carolina ca. 1825, and he had a known older sister named Ellie, b. ca. 1818, also in South Carolina. They both took the adoptive name of Rose, because of the marriage of Beda (?)to William H. Rose, sometime in the late 1820's, when they were very young. The couple had two more children whose DNA does match with the Rose line. Mine does not. The name Robertson pops up, along with a Bozely (Bosely)family. One of the Bozely clan claimed to have known my ancestor all his life. The Rose family arrived in Maury County Tennessee before 1830, some of them later moved to Johnson County Illinois in the 1840's. My guess is that Beda lost her first husband, who may have been a Robertson, had children with him, and also with William Rose in her second mariage.
