Since posting the DNA project announcement, I also thought of another possibility: there may be other lines that, instead of tracing back to the old Colonial era families, descend from more recent immigrants. The biography of Kitty ("Klondike Kate") Rockwell, for example, describes her father, one John Rockwell in Kansas, as "Scotch-Irish"--an unlikely descriptor for a descendant of the old Connecticut lines.Kitty was an only child, so that line is moot, but there may have been others.
If your line goes back to such an immigrant, we can include a qualified (direct-line, male) donor in this test.Since one of the goals is to establish "fingerprints" for the different lines, it makes sense to include other distinct lines besides the older ones.Let me know. --Ken Rockwell
