Re: James Rodger - Glasgow
At times, negatives can add to research. I offer the following for your consideration:
My line descends from Achilhanzie, Monzie, Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland. (Farm, Village, Parish, County, Country). 600 years proven. Great-great-grandmother was an Arnott / Arnot, (Margaret). Many lines of James down from the 1400's and some moved to Dundee and Perth and more recently, to Glasgow although ancient lines would have branched down the west coast. Recently, to date, only diabetes complications a major factor in deaths within this line. I disallow my father who died of heart and lung problems as he was a heavy smoker and an alcoholic. Motor Neurone Disease is not within this line or surviving branches of Rodger's in Newfoundland, Canada. I am a PAD amputee and expect that disease to get me in the next few years. (70 y.o. this year).
I will research my papers to see if another branch of the Highland Rodger family may have had a similar disease but I only have information from the 1800's. Not much from the 1900's.
While I have a Finley in the extended family, (names varied greatly in 1800's America), I have no information of causes of death in that line. (Also from Crieff, Perthshire).
I will keep my eye open for anything more which may add to your search, (my Australia / New Zealand branch - unacknowledged), and wish you the best of luck.
