Re: Rodger's in New Zealand
Boy,oh boy! Are you ever FAMILY!!!
Never fear, you have 600 years, proven, of Rodger history, (blood), and two thousand years of heritage, (name), through your mother!
As a Peathills, Crieff, Rodger, you are directly related to myself and another, a young lady who was in the process of writing a book which included the Peathills line. Sorting all the Perthshire lines has been a headache puzzle for me for over ten years now. I came to a research hslt with the death of the Matriarch of Clan Rodger of North Carolina, USA, last year. I doubt my son, James Douglas Rodger will ever pick it up when I am gone.
But, FYI, while my dates differ just a little, (not unusual), I can take your Rodger line to 1695 and will try to gather what I can from my many boxes of research papers and archived hard drives, if you wish. (My present database is a definite mess)!!!
Looking forward to further correspondence with you and more puzzle pieces put in place.
P.S. - At least one child of Dr. Rodger, Veterinarian of Crieff, now deceased, ended up in NZ and some branch wound up in Australia. All family but not proven.
Contact me off-line and I will try to get you all I can. Have I ever got stories for you!!!
Welcome to our Clan, & familial love to all of your's.
Lawrence D. Rodger, Patriarch, "Clan Rodger of North Carolina, USA"
