You might try writing to the Parish Office in Arecibo, or get a letter from the Bishop authoring you to search for your grandfather's ancestors. According to what I found, Juan Román (1724-17 Dec 1763, Arecibo) married to María Josefa de Arroyo on 6 June 1748, Arecibo, had a son named Cayetano who migrated to Yauco, PR in the 1770's. We Romans from Yauco descend for Cayetano. If you can trace your family to Cayetano's father who stayed behind, we certainly are related. Unfortunatly, there are no micofilms available for Arecibo at the Family History Centers run by the Mormons Church. Good luck, and keep mi posted.Juan Román
