Leonard Roman 8/23/04
My Roman family were in the Spanish Caribbean as early as 1640. They probably came from Andalucia or the Canary Isands. The Spanish surname ROMÁN first appears c.750 AD in the village of Ortigueira, Galicia, near the Portuguese border in the north. The name also appeared as ROMAEZ, son of Roman, but probably discontinued.
