I believe that Daniel ROSSITER, the head of this family, married Mary FLOWERS at Great Cheverell in Wiltshire on 15 JUL 1776. It looks to me as if their eldest son, James, was born in Great Cheverell. James was still alive in 1851 and gave that as his birthplace.
Other children of Daniel and Mary seem to have been born in Mells, including Job (bap 01 Jun 1783), Daniel junior (bap 30 May 1785) and William (bap 16 Sep 1787).
Daniel (senior) left a will in which he mentions his children as follows: IR26 ref:/1099 f.571
Testator:Daniel ROSSITER, Edge Tool Maker of Mells
Proved:Cons. Arch Wells 1 Jul 1826
Died:8 May 1826
Will signed:6 May 1826
Executors:James ROSSITER of Mells, William ROSSITER of Whatley
Legacies: All property to be shared between James ROSSITER (son), William ROSSITER (son), Job ROSSITER (son), Daniel ROSSITER (son), Ann PARSONS (dau)
