I can tell you exactly where JACOB and Wife, CATHARINE FOX are buried, in Gallia County, OH in the small town of Cheshire. They are buried in the ROUSH Family Cemetary. Both JACOB and his Brother fought in the Rev. War, JACOB at the Battle of Point Pleasant, WVA Mason Co., WVA.There are current descentants of both living in town.I did not have enough time when I was there to go call on any one although I have talked to both on the phone.
I am interested in having the graves of both of these ROUSH men marked with DAR insignia to honor their service - I was able to prove by a personal visit that they are not.
I go thru their child, CATHERINE, who married PETER LALLANCE (LA LANCE) formerly of Ft. Harmar, Washington Co., OH Marietta. My Grandmother (paternal) was a LALLANCE who was reared in Huntington, WVA.My CALDWELL Father was raised there as well. You need to go to the www.roush.org site and get the exact Revolutionary War service for JACOB. Some of the lines of his children have been established already, but know that my CATHERINE's has not been.I am a DAR member through another line of my Mother's people. I happen to be a Chapter Register for my own DAR chapter, so I understand a lot of the process.I can save you a lot of work if you are interested - the site gives you his Rev. War service, but am not sure that it is in dispute at the moment.Think a current member who more recently joined, got the differnt JACOB's mixed up.If so, there is going to have to be a corrections process.
JACOB died in Gallia County in 1830 and was for the times a large land owner in the Ohio Land Company, and no doubt the farms they own could be still in the family.I did not have time to find out.
