Cyrilla Rowsell 6/24/05
Hi there. My name is Alexander Rowsell, my mother is Donna Jean Rowsell (b. 1959), my aunt and uncle are Pauline Rowsell and Gary Rowsell respectively, and my grandfather is Eric Rowsell, who was a proud Newfoundlander and served in WWII ... as my mom put it on Remembrance Day - "My father, Eric Rowsell, fought in Europe during WW2 for eighteen months until he was wounded by a German sniper. He continued in the Canadian army for the rest of his life, serving several peacekeeping missions with the UN. He had the words "Death before dishonour" tatooed on his arm. He died in 2006 from cancer related to the testing, by the Americans, of Agent Orange on Canadian Force bases." He was with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment during WW2, and was a proud Guardsman and Newfoundlander. He was known as CSM Rowsell (Company Sergeant Major)...
Anyone who knows more about the Rowsell clan in Newfoundland, please post more!!
