Re: A ghostly "Earl of Traquair"
Hi Ron, the poor information is nothing but what people have sent to the LDS. My sister-in-law has been seeing lots of things being excepted as facts from the website and she has told me that like all information everyone still has to get their own documnets to prove what others have posted for that very reasonn. We both know that no matter who posts messages with whatever info they provide, if it is something others are looking for, still has to be proven not by the person posting but the ones who need the info.Things I have posted from the old letters are copied from the original documents from Scotland. It appears the the information was written in a attempt to prove that John Rutherford was trying to claim the title of Lord Rutherford, Earl of Teviot in the early 1700's, basically it seems to be a predigree chart to prove closekinship to Andrew. My point is what I posted would still have to be proven by anyone who is claiming this as their line. Even though I have the old letters it is still up to them to get documents from Scotland since many would say that the letter itself proves nothing and they'd be correct since I myself cannot confirm that it from the documents even though the letter says that is where the information came from. I posted it because it maybe something someone may need as a GUIDE later in their research and hopefully that person will not say it is factual because I posted it. Which is why LDS disclaims the authenticity of anything that is on their webpage.
