From Kentucky Tax Lists Clinton County 1837-1861Roll # 84
H. R. Ryan first shows up on tax lists 1845, Illwill Creek. Also Joseph R. Ryan, Illwill Creek. If this is the J. R. Ryan I think he is, he lived in Clinton County until about 1850 and migrated first to Honey Grove, Texas, Fannin County, and then to Paris, Texas, Lamar County.
I found in 1851 W. R. Ryan, guardian for John Dillin and S. J. Dillin.
This family has a connection to PIERCE.In a cemetery at Albany:
H. Ryan Sept. 12, 1822May 8, 1906 Dr. A. P. Ryan Jan. 20, 1856Jan. 22, 1921 Lewis Pierce 1806-1890 Rachel wife of Lewis 1810-1898
My interest is Joseph R. Ryan.My g-g-grandfather James M. Pierce almost certainly was born in Clinton County, Kentucky. He married Catherine Ryan in Missouri.Their daughter migrated to Honey Grove, Texas. James Pierce's father was Thomas J. Pierce--related to Lewis Pierce, Francis Pierce, etc.
