Loads of information await you nearby. The village of Ruska' Nova Ves (=Rusyn New Town) is located 2 miles east of the city of Pres'ov in northeastern Slovak. The area around Pres'ov (and the larger city of Kos'ice 15 miles south) is crawling with Sabol families. The online telephone directory lists 750 Sabol families in Slovakia, almost all in this area of eastern Slovakia.
The Magyar (Hungarian) name for Ruska Nova Ves was your Sosujfalu, which means, I think, Salt New Town. There is a long tradition of salt production from the cooking of brine from deposits in the area east of Pres'ov.
Visit your local branch of the Mormon (LDS) Family History Center; if your family is Greek Catholic, order the photocopied church records from Ruska Nova Ves, available on rolls of microfilm. The Greek Catholic records cover the years from 1763 to 1895 and are on films #1793656, #1783657, and #1793642.If the family was of another religious denomination, e.g., Roman Catholic, the records of family baptisms, marriages, and burials were probably kept in the records of a church in Pres'ov.
