I am looking for descendants of the following family who seem to have originated in Sevier County, many of whom later removed to Knoxville, Tennessee.
4. Johnnie Webb Saffle Brookins was born 27 March 1907 and died on 1 September 1984 in Knoxville. Johnnie married James Saffle circa 1922 possibly in Knoxville. He was born about 5 August 1905 in Sevier County and died 31 October 1937 in Knox County. Johnnie married second to Leroy Brookins, 27 June 1941, Blount County, Tennessee.
5. James Matthew Saffel was born circa 1872, likely in Sevier County, Tennessee and died in Knox County, Tennessee on 24 September 1928. He married Rebecca Chandler on 22 December 1887 in Sevier County, Tennessee. Rebecca Chandler was born in Sevier County, Tennessee on 14 July 1874 and died in Knoxville, Tennessee on 4 August 1942. James’s death certificate lists his parents as Prince and Mary Saffell.
6. Prince Saffel was born circa 1835 (estimate-possibly in Sevier County) and may have died prior to 1880 as he is not in the household of Mary Saffel and son James M. Saffel in Sevier County in 1870 or 1880. Prince may have married Mary Brabson (?) circa 1868, possibly in Sevier County. The 1910 Sevier County census lists the son of Prince and Mary, George Alfred Saffell (36), with his mother, Mary A. Brabson (69) I have not found Prince Saffel or his marriage to Mary thus far. A listing at Findagrave.com lists a Mary Saffell Brabson who was born circa 1830 and died at the age of 85 on 1 August 1925 in Sevier County. She is buried at the Beech Springs Cemetery in Sevierville. Prince and Mary both may have been born in Sevier County as Mary and her family is there in 1880 (Note: There is a Prince Brabson (55) living at Henry’s Crossroads in Sevier County with his wife Florence (50) and two children, James (15) and Milly (20) and grandson Norman Brabson 1. This Prince could be Prince Saffel or a brother to Mary A. Brabson. Mary Saffel and James M. Saffel are living at Henry’s Crossroads in 1880 as well)
1930 Knox County, Tennessee census showing the family of James and Jonnie Saffle along with wife Jonnie (Webb) and children James Thomas Jr., Mary Alice and Anna “Annie” Louise Saffle. James would die in 1937 and Johnnie is found living with her parents, Elbert William and Sarah “Sally” Ann Thorne Webb in Knoxville in 1940.

He was a laborer, lived at 405 Preston Street, and married to Rebecca Chandler Saffell. His parents are listed as Prince and Mary Saffell. He was buried in Sevierville. I have not found Prince Saffell in the census records yet.
Death information for Rebecca Saffell, wife of James M. Saffell. Parents listed as Claiborne and Elizabeth Chandler of Sevier County, Tennessee. Elizabeth may be Sarah Elizabeth Brabson. An entry at Findagrave.com lists Charlie C. Chandler (1 January 1896-2 April 1946) Buried at Crest View in Knoxville. Son of Claiborn Chandler and Sarah Brabson; husband of Fannie Chandler; cardiac failure; Barber (DC)

1900 Sevier County census showing the James M. Saffle family, Rebecca J. Chandler Saffel and James’s mother Mary Brabson and brother George Saffle. Brabson may be another surname that needs to be researched.
The 1880 Henry’s Cross Roads, Sevier County Tennessee census showing the family of Mary Saffel and her children, including James M. Saffel and what appears to be either Mary or Prince’s mother Laura Saffel, 87 years old. Delia may have married Benjamin Bowman on 17 December 1891 in Knoxville.
