Chuck, this is the same family I have started researching tonight for a co-worker friend. She is a descendant of Chester Franklin Sagner and Rebecca Jane Leslie. It appears that you are from this same family just with the name coincidences. There was a daughter Kathryn Lenore Sagner who married David Louis Heinzman. There was also an Ella May Sagner, Jane Sagner, Thomas Sagner, and I think a few more as children. This Rebecca Jane Leslie had previously been married to a Mr. {Unknown} Hall and brought stepchildren into the marriage with Chester Franklin Sagner.

From a cursory glance at the censuses, and I hesitate to say having just checked into it, so may not be accurate. It appears Chester Franklin Sagner is the son of Jacob and Rebecca {--unknown--}Sagner who was the son of William Sagnier.Perhaps, speculatively, William could be the son of Jacob Sager?I don't know, but am just now searching and would appreciate any information.I notice there was a Nicholas Sager Sr. who appears to be oldest in 1790 census but this is just speculation.Any idea who the immigrant ancestor is?
