Researching Salupo Surname in US & Sicily
I get to post the first message to this forum. I guess I will make it pretty inclusive of my research.
I am researching the surname SALUPO. The families in the United States originate from at least 3 small towns in the NorthEast of Sicily, Messina district. The towns are Alcara Li Fusi, Tortorici, and Floresta. Tortorici has the highest density of this surname.
The Salupo's from these cities migrated to the U.S. between 1903 and 1921. The two cities that they all migrated to were Waltham Massachussetts(Outside Boston) and Cleveland, Ohio.
I am researching all of these families in the hope of connecting them back in Italy.
I am looking for descendents of Paolo and Nunzio Salupo from Floresta who immigrated to the Boston area.
I am also looking for descendents of brothers Adriano and Giuseppe Salupo who lived in Cleveland. both immigrated from Tortorici. Giuseppe's wife was Rose Trusso. Adriano's wife was Maria Costanzo.
A third family of interest are the brothers Salvatore(Sam) and Anthony Salupo. Both immigrated to the Cleveland area from an unknown location in Italy. Salvatore's wife was Laura Lazio and Anthony's wife was Florence Cali.
and lastly, my family originates with the descendents of Rosario Salupo and Maria Virzi of Alcara Li Fusi. Their children who moved to the US are: Salvatore, Nicolo, Vincenza (m. Antonino Maenza), and Sebastiano. Carmelo and Rosaria remained in Alcara. Nicolo is my grandfather. He was married to Carolina Cancelliere.
If you fail to reach me at the email address on this message, please try to locate me through the white pages. I am located in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am currently the only Salupo in the region.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.
