Alexander,

It's not all family story in this case. The obituary in the newspaper a few days after his sdeath (he was the accountant at the paper) refers to his visit to America, and I know he had first cousins who went, as well as having letters from the to his widow shortly after his death. And I think I have found him in shipping records to America, although Mr Sanger could have been anyone.

It all adds to the fun.

Hadn;t realised until recently that Sanger also a German name, although obviously I should have.
