Bob,
Most of these names are in my family. However the one that really has me interested is Bart Gentile. My Gentile side has been hard for me to trace. My great grandmother was Margarita Gentile, the daughter of Filippa Rizzo and Cosimo Gentile. She had a brother Bartolomeo (Bart) and a brother Salvatore. As well as sisters, Ignazia and Giuseppa. We have been told that one brother lived in upstate NY and one in Rhode Island, but don't know much more than that.I do know Bart was born in 1870 and Salvatore in 1873.
I do have a Salvadore Comella, but he died in 1836 in Termini. My Gr Gr Grandmother was Liboria Comella. Her siblings were Saverio, Giuseppa, Rosario, Giacomo, Filippo, Giuseppe and Caterina. They are the children of Antonio Comella and Isabella Gentile (possibly Intile).Rosario married Francesca Paola Palmisano and they had Liboria, Antonio, Isabella and Concetta. Giuseppa married Andrea Sansone, she lived in Louisville KY.I don't know anything else about the children.
Frank Sansone, is my Dad, and great grandfather's name and they both live(d) in St Louis.
The Corso name was my grandmother's maiden name. That's another tough one to research. My grandmother was one of twelve children, but beyond their parents, no one really knows a lot and most of my grandmother's siblings have passed away.Only the youngest three are left and their father died in 1935, so they don't remember a whole lot.We have been told that some of the Corso's went to the Chicago area. There was Matteo and Agostino and then my great grandfather Ignazio, who went by Joe, but he came to St Louis.
My Catalano family was from Nebraska.
All of these people were from Termini Imerese Sicily which is just outside of Palermo.
If any of this sounds familiar, please let me know.
