By Lisa Looney October 24, 2008 at 09:27:03

am searching for informationon Joseph Santo. He is listed under various names and spellings such as "Joseph da Silva da Santo" "Santos", "Sylva" "Silvia". However, most of the time he used either "Silva" or "Santo". He arrived in the US abt 1889 acc. to 1900 N. Easton, MA census. He may have arrived in NY and made his way to MA, pos. as a stowaway with others from his family and/or village. He was married to Maria Conceicao Da Jesus Soares 1895 in Barnstable. Maria entered the US abt1892 from Lajes, Pico (1875-1915). They lived in Barnstable and moved to N. Easton around 1896, then finally to Sorrento,FL in 1910, Eustis in 1911, then family scattered and some settled in Orlando, FL. They had 8/9 children, I am still trying to verify the authenticity of a child's name.

Mary (Sis) b. 1896
Joseph b. 1998
Frank b. 1900
Johnny b. 1902
Antonio (Tony) b.1904
Alfonso (Al) b.1906
Carithem (sp?) b. 1908 (possible child, name from baptismal record)
