Hi Ernie
Ive traced the Sardiña family back to about
the early 1800.The oldest Sardiña I have verified is Lucas Sardiña who married Antonia o Rafaela Santana or SantaAna.they were from the Canary Islands.(I have been told that the family was originally from Spain). Lucas and his wife had a son Placido Sardiña who was born in 1829 in Telde, Canary Isl. He married Juana Suarez daug of Domingo Suarez and Antonia Llanes (Yanes). They had lots of children both in the Canary Islands and then in Matanzas Cuba.If you think there might be a connection let me know what names you are researching and I'll see if I find a connection. As I have stated in my previous post, Sardiña was later written as Sardiñas.
Luck to you
Marti
