The following information is from the family information I have on the Sartains.Russell and Marthat Beard Sartain were my great-grandparents.This information indicates that Lena was the daughter of Russell and his first wife Melvina.I'm sorry I don't have more information.I'll be glad to correspond with you and see if we can iron out any of these mysteries!

B. Died: August 11, 1862, near Richmond, Va., in Confederate Army (Co. A, 16th Regt., Ga. Volunteers, CSA).
C. Married. *MARTHA A. BEARD about 1855; she was born Oct. 23, 1833, Madison County,
Ga.
D. Children:

a. Columbus Jefferson "Jeff" Sartain, married his step-sister, Amanda Sartain, daughter of Lewis and Martha Sartain.
