Hello; I came across your posted message on Genealogy.com from back in 2000, but since SOME of us still have the email address they had back then, I thought this was worth a try.
I've posted messages as both replies and new posts regarding an old family bible I recently purchased. The bible, although a rare edition (1846 Harper Brothers Illuminated), itself is in poor condition, but it contains the family history pages, starting with the marriage ofStephen Cubbedge to Caroline Rebecca Tubbs in 1837. It includes, in numerous different handwriting styles, quite a bit of family history, including listings on 17 Sasnetts.
The bible also contains several artifacts, a two page handwritten not from 1954 from a Henry Harris Sasnett regarding the resting place of one of his Aunts, a 1936 letter from the Mayor ofSavannah, Georgia and what appears to be a reply to that letter from a Richard M. (?) Sasnett, regarding a memorial notice for a Mary Lavender. The letter notes that the memorial had been left by Mr. Sasnetts' Grandmother, Mrs. Rebecca Cubbedge.
Another item found in the bible was an invitation, ~1960 vintage, to a fiftieth wedding anniversary celebration for "Mr & Mrs Henry Harris Sasnett".
If this bible and/or it's contents are of further interest to you or your mother, Kathy, noted as the family genealogist in your post on genealogy.com pasted below, please feel free to get back to me.
