Hello again....
The plot thickens:In 1910, Evert (actually Everett) A. Savey, age 22, heads a household containing Mabel D. (20), Earnest P. (17), Paul R. (15), Bethel> (13)< Sidney (11) and erroneously labeled "sister" of Evert - not uncommon in censuses, Herbert (9) and Lucille S. (8).All were born in South Dakota of parents born in New York, and they were farmers.Parents are still missing.Hmmm..... One moment - something sounds familiar here.....
Eureka!Your Savey and I are distant cousins! And your Savey is the son of John Baldwin Savey (1860-1905) and Estella Maude Brown (unknown-1903); John Baldwin Savey was son of Stephen Savey (b.1833) and Amanda Pierce (b.1842);Stephen Savey was son of Stephen Savey (1803-1884) and Sally (b.1803-?) who was also my g-g-grandfather; and he was the probable son of Stephen Savey (Savy in some records; 1759-1847), wife unknown, who was a Revolutionary War Patriot (see the Savey forum at genealogy.com, rootsweb.com or Ancestry.com for details). All came from the Chemung County region of Southern Tier New York State where Stephen Savey (1759-1847) returned to from Vermont following service in New York State during the French and Indian War.(See the forums mentioned above). They were all woodworkers of one sort or another.Evidently, the Sidney and his siblings were well on their own, though living in the same community as relations, by 1910.
Regards...
