Completely confused. The original Polish Slavic name is Sawicki and the americanized version is Savitsky. Savitsky is the phonetically version of Sawicki which is properly pronounced Sah-vitz-ki. My family has had this name for a couple of centuries and "difficult" or not it is a last name like any other. From Saint Sawa and the Mermaid of Polish folklore to regions all over eastern Europe many people carry this name in forms of Sawickaja ex. Russia, Savickas ex. Baltic countries and Sawicki ex. Poland. Remeber above all: w=v and cki=tzki.
