On the 1850 census of Hardeman Co., TN, Margaret (Peggy) Scallions, age 33,was living in her parents household.Vaughton Toler, age 19, was also living there.The census taker made a note that he was an idiot from sickness.Do you know the maning of this term?I don't know what they meant "from sickness".

Court records in Obion County show hat Norton Toler ws a pauper.Jesse and Peggy filed to be his guardian.

I was there last week and was unable to view the records due to th clerk being away from the office and he held the keys.The records are on micofilm in their local library but were so dim I couldn't read it.
