Re: Newton Scallorn: Affadavit of Heirship states that Newton Scallorn died a widower; However, later, Fannie Howell Scallorn submitted proof of the marriage and received Newton;s Confederate Pension; County Clerk's Office; Lavaca County, Tx; Index to Death Records 1903-1940: Pages 46-54;Hope this helps.
