I really don't have a lot more on Jeremiah Scannell. I have some land records from a divorce, a cemetery grave marker from his first wife, and some childrens names.
The grave marker has an inscription that says:
"Erected by Jeremiah Scannell In memory of his wife Alice Who departed this life Oct. 13, 1858 Aged 31 years"
This is what I used to establish an approximate birth year for Jeremiah between 1825 and 1830. There are some land Plat maps and a land abstract that transfers land to Jeremiah's second wife Bridget under a divorce decree dated May 22, 1875. The children are from the second marriage.
This later date may rule out any connection to your Jeremiah.
This Jeremiah settled South of Fond du Lac, WI with known Scannells from Rathcormac, Cork, Ireland. I expect that I offended some people when I said that most Scannells were from Cork. There is a contingent from County Kerry.
Most of what I can tell you about Jeremiah is already in the Scannell Forum if you search by that name. I have been trying to track down more information for a while and continually get stuck when Jeremiah leaves Wisconsin.
