Hi Alyson, Thanks so much for the photo of Alexander Scarberry & Nancy Katherine Byers !She does look kind of Indian in the copy, doesn't she? I don't have much on Alexander Scarberry, but I can give you the list of children my gr-grAunt Mary Willingham (Berry) had with William Scarberry, their son.
William Scarberry was Gr-grAunt Mary's second husband.Mary was born in 1853 DeKalb Co, GA.She was the daughter of William B. Willingham & Francis Jane Thomas. My gr-grandfather; John Kyle Willingham was Mary's brother.
Mary Willingham married John F. Berry in 1869 Gwinnett Co, GA.They had: 1) Mary Jane Berry b: 1870 Gwinnett Co, GA d: 1890 Van Buren Co, Arkansas married ISAAC N. SCARBERRY. Mary Willingham Berry moved to Arkansas between 1871-1875. They were living in Archey Valley, Van Buren Co, ARK on the 1880 Census.
Mary then married William R. Scarberry in 1883.She was 30 years old and he was only 19 ! (Plus, she had 4 children). The children of Wm.R. Scarberry & Mary Willingham Berry were: 1) Nancy Scarberry b: July 1884 married Jesse Forrester in 1902. 2) Sarah F.
