The July-August, 2013, issue of ANTIQUES magazine on p. 26 pictures in an article an excellent portrait of Captain Daniel I. Schenck, possibly of Monmouth County, New Jersey. The portrait was painted about 1830-1832 by the American portrait artist Micah Williams. No other information about Capt. Schenck is given in this article.
In case you can no longer purchase a copy of this issue or are unable to find it in your local public library (remember to take along your camera), I am scanning this portrait for any of his family descendants and researchers who might like a copy sent freely by email. Just imagine if there were a portrait in existence of one of your ancestors before the age of photography, and you did not know of it. That would, indeed, be a very great shame and injustice, which is why I’m scanning this portrait and posting about it. Someone in the family ought to have a copy of this portrait.

If it were a portrait of a 19th century Mr. Pease in my family line, I'd certainly hope someone would do the same for me. Call it a simple, but appropriate, genealogy good deed.
