I have located my family that used to reside in Schwersenz, Prussia, Germany by way of the LDS which has a website www.familysearch.org, which lists the names of Schendels taken from various church registers, in the Posen Area.Hope this will help in your search.I believe it starts with the year 1621 and ends with the year 1871.Good Luck
