Scherp family Of Laubenheim, Germany

Researching my ancestors that came from Laubenheim on the Nahe River south of Bingen, Germany.Several members of the Scherp family settled in the Hudson valley of New York in the 1700s.My own line descends from Anna Barbara Mathess, widow of Johann Philip Scherp of Laubenheim.I am compiling a genealogy of the descendants of this couple.The name was anglicized to Sharp or Sharpe.
